USAGE

CONSTRUCTION

The PackWall panels are widely used in residential and industrial buildings. They are an eco-friendly and nature-friendly substitute for fibreboard, gypsum fibreboard and plasterboard elements. They are great for interior and exterior walls, partitions, pitched roofs, floors and flat roofs (as a walkable area under waterproofing). They can also serve as temporary fencing, filling of openings, protection of arches, columns or garages.

Depending on the purpose, it is possible to choose between the BASIC, BASIC PROFILE or DESIGN and DOUBLE DESIGN (options with a visible panel texture) panels.

Exclusive solutions

for exhibition designs are offered by the PackWall panels. To present products and decorate a booth at trade fairs or exhibitions, architects can use not only the unique texture of the DESIGN panels, but also their added value – sustainability – and present a responsible approach to the environment through the PackWall panels.

FURNITURE

Thanks to their properties, the PackWall composite panels are a great material for making many types of furniture and interior solutions. They can create cabinets and chest of drawers as well as their doors. They are suitable for the production of tables; they can be used as upholstered furniture structures or as a base for laminating and veneering. They are an alternative to chipboard, MDF, HDF or OSB.

The DESIGN DOUBLE type is used in the furniture industry, as the original panel texture is visible from both sides. If the texture is required only on one side, the DESIGN panel can be used. The BASIC panel is a suitable basis for furniture and interior solutions when we want additional surface treatment for the furniture (e.g. coating, laminating, veneering, etc.).

Unique solutions

can be created by architects and designers for exhibition booths where the panels can serve not only as structural elements, but also as exhibition equipment, furniture or decorations

FAQ

DO THE PANELS NEED TO BE PAINTED WITH SOMETHING?

The panels must first be treated with a primer according to the type and recommendation of the manufacturer of the final surface, both in the cutting edge and in the surface. Use a clear, water-based paint with UV protection (polymer coatings) for the final coating. Treat the cutting edge at least 2 times (preferably 3 times) to prevent moisture from entering the panel. Treat the surface at least once (preferably twice) to ensure UV resistance and surface stability and shade invariance.

IS THERE ANY TREATMENT OTHER THAN PAINTING?

Yes, PackWall panels can be plastered, screeded, painted, varnished, wallpapered, tiled with ceramics, coated, laminated.

DO I NEED TO USE ANY PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT?

Yes, when handling or working with them, use common personal protective equipment, such as gloves, goggles, respirators, appropriate footwear or head protection, etc. It is always necessary to use the recommended primer.

WHAT IS THE PROPER STORAGE OF THE PANELS?

The goods must be protected against the weather at least by tarpaulin during storage. The appropriate quality (load-bearing capacity) of the floors must be ensured at the place of handling. Products must be stored on a flat surface in a dry and ventilated area with an optimal relative air humidity from 40 to 65%. Individual packages with panels must be interleaved. The lower package should be placed at least 10 cm above the floor on a transport pallet. It is possible to stack a maximum of 3 pallets on top of each other, provided that the floor has sufficient load-bearing capacity.

WHERE CAN THE PANELS BE USED?

PackWall BASIC can be used for interior partitions and ceilings, sandwich panels, perimeter walls, attic joists, floors, foundation and balance boards, temporary filling of building openings, construction fencing, formwork, slab foundation roofing, roofing, etc. They are often used during the construction of wooden buildings, where they fully replace conventionally used board materials. PackWall DESIGN can be used as cladding panels, partitions, panels and tiles of atypical design, soft furniture skeleton, boards, shelves, worktops, counters, cabinet doors, design elements, etc.

I NEED TO MAKE AN ARCH, IS IT POSSIBLE?

The PackWall panel can be bent up to a diameter of 1400 mm, using heat. Ideally, prepare a ‘last’ in a Finnish sauna to bend or shape the cut panel. It will keep its shape after cooling.

WHAT TOOLS ARE SUITABLE FOR CUTTING THE PANELS?

The panels can be cut with a hand saw, circular saw, sizing saw, band saw. A quality carbide blade designed for massive material must be used (it has more space for removing the cut material). Quality cuts can be achieved with sharp cutting tools and proper fixation of the cut material.

WHAT DRILLS ARE THE BEST?

For drilling the PackWall panels, we recommend standard wood drills with a sharp tip.

CAN THE PACKWALL PANEL BE USED FOR FURNITURE OR AS A PARTITION WALL OR DOOR?

When using the PackWall panel to make furniture, it is necessary to observe the general principles of construction for the given load of the unit and furniture principles. Always insert the PackWall panel into the frame to give it greater strength when using it for the production of doors, etc. Proper structural reinforcement is required when using a large format PackWall panel. The gaps in the grid must not be greater than 400×400 mm. All PackWall panel edges and surfaces need to be primed, painted, glued, framed when creating furniture. The PackWall panels can be tinted as required, in any colour. For example, they can be treated by waxing, painting, laminating, veneering, gluing, wallpapering, etc.

WHAT CAN I DO WITH THE USED PANELS WHEN I NO LONGER NEED THEM?

All nails, screws or other contaminants must be removed from PackWall products. You can throw them into beverage carton containers (orange colour or lid). They can also be taken to a collection yard, where they will be properly sorted. Another option is to recycle them again at the place of production – Milevsko. As the producer, we are also a waste processor and the PackWall panels can be recycled again.
